Two Go To Future Gardens

We had a blast, so much so we've upgraded our day tickets to a season pass :)

Here are some things we loved the most at Future Gardens...

Feeling teeny

Going round...

...and round...

...in circles

Wanting to dive in and snuggle up

Surreal treasure hunts through the gabions

Chaos turning into calm

And my favourite garden

Can't wait to go back and see how it grows up.

Watch this space.

Wish I Was Here

Chelsea came and went, my camera is bursting with things to share, but it's going to have to wait a few more days.

My week has been full of threatening letters from gas suppliers (whom I've been trying for six months to contact but who prefer the bully boy approach to rational telephone dialogue), one very relaxing and one terrifying National Express coach journey, Small Boy sized sports days, flat tyres, grappling with the government car scrappage scheme at a Birmingham car dealership (and they say buying a house is stressful), dead cars, hire cars, more flat tyres, noisy neighbourhood parties, coming home to find the fabulous screening hedge between mine and my neighbour-at-the-bottom-of-the-garden reduced to 24inch high stumps...

I have things to show you, but I just need half an hour so compose myself.

Hardly timely blogging, but it'll better late than never...x

How Times Have Changed

There was a time, not so many years ago, when my Chelsea run up started in about March. I'd have planned my route, pinned the tickets on the board and had my bag packed weeks in advance like an over excited kid.

Gone are those days, replaced by stress about my own show designs, being more creative than I thought I was capable of in fitting in the next client into an already crazy schedule, and juggling the rest of my hectic but fabulous life.

So, my dear Chelsea, this year I've neglected you dreadfully.

Tomorrow I'm all yours. My total, undivided attention.

I can't wait!

Thank You

The reaction to my Malvern border has completely blown me away.

Observing the public's response is rather like an out of body experience. It's quite surreal to overhear what they say about your design, standing right next to you, with no notion of who you are or that you've lived with the exhibit in your mind for the last eight months.

To those who came to visit, to those who have so kindly blogged about Lola, to all the marvellous people who have spurred me on through their comments and emails, and to those who kept me sane on the build when I thought the rain, the gales and the chicken-wire-shredded fingers might just send me over the edge, I send much love and thanks.

Is That You In There, Lola?

I am (in no particular order):
  • Exhausted
  • Exhilarated
  • Ripped to shreds by chicken wire
  • Panicking (just a little)
  • Entirely incapable of sleeping for longer than 90 minutes at a time.

Four days to go
